All About Mr. Lester
Hi. My name is Mr. Lester and I am the 5th grade math teacher at Marlette Elementary School. I have taught in the Marlette School District for eight years. I have had the opportunity to teach seventh grade math for three years, one year of fourth grade, and two years in fifth and sixth grade. I have also spent time as the athletic director. I was the athletic director for three years spanning from the fall of 2009 until the summer of 2012.
I got my start working at Marlette Community Schools as a coach. I coached as I attended college. I have been coaching both football and basketball for the past seventeen years. I am currently the head varsity football coach but have coached junior high, freshman, and JV football and basketball. I love coaching because I get to see the students of Marlette Community Schools outside of the classroom where I can teach them about hard work, teamwork, and fair play.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I attended Marlette as a student too. I graduated in 1996. After completing high school, I first attended Delta College before transferring over to Saginaw Valley State University where I was able to earn my bachelors degree. This past spring, I finished up my master's degree in curriculum and technology.
At home, I am a lucky husband of my wife, Shauna, of seven years. Mrs. Lester is also a teacher at Marlette. She teaches English at our high school. Mrs. Lester loves to shop, read, and, most of all, spend time with our family. We have two beautiful children. Trey is going into the first grade. He loves to play outside and play his 3DS. His favorite TV shows are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers. Trey also has a little sister. Her name is Hallie. She is two years old. She is very busy and we love having a little girl around the house. She loves Peppa Pig. Also we can't forget about our dogs Maizy and Molly. Both of them love to get into trouble. They are the perfect pair for two little kids.
